Colton Parayko

It was reported yesterday that the St. Louis Blues and Buffalo Sabres had agreed on a deal that would send Colton Parayko to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a first-round pick and defence prospect Radim Mrtka, per Darren Dreger. However, Parayko ultimately declined to waive his no-trade clause, nullifying the deal.

This comes as a surprise to many, as the Sabres appear to be on pace to break their 14-year playoff drought, with the team currently sitting among the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Even with this success, it seems Colton Parayko prefers to avoid the Buffalo snow, stay in St. Louis, and ride out the rebuild.

Will another team whose city has more beaches and palm trees make a run at Parayko? Or is he perfectly content staying in St. Louis till his contract is up in 2030?
